On Monday 21 December 2009,Oceanic bank Plc swept away 1,500 workers. The same happend in Intercontinental Bank Plc at the weekend.The layout was because of warning from the Federal Goverment against such mass number of workers at the banks.
The mass purge was a stratege to reduce cost and stabilise the financial insitute.Some workers were suprised by the action as the had no idea such a thing will happen.
According to the Director/CEO John Aboh,he said that the bank would embark on cost optimisttion by verifying and dealing with non-performing /idea assets so as to substain viable ones.
